About Buffalo Springs

Buffalo Springs National Reserve lies in Isiolo County, south of Samburu National Reserve across the Ewaso Nyiro River. Its landscape features dry savannah, old lava flows, acacia woodland, riverine forest and natural springs.

The reserve is known for Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and gerenuk. Visitors may also encounter elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife.
